98 GT, just got it about 2 weeks ago. First thing was to remove old exhaust, wanted something that sounded a little more aggressive. Our warehouse was having a deal on Magnaflow exhausts so I bit the bullet and bought a catback.

Installed system Friday, since then put about 300 miles on the car. On start up, has a nice little roar about it, at idle it just sits there and rumbles, I thought to myself, a 6 cyl and it actually sounds cool. Engine is stock, didn't do anything with the downpipe, stock converter.

I then take it out for a spin, it's livable with my driving style, cruising it's not too bad, I was doing mostly highway speeds Friday night going to GF's place (70 - seemed to be a sweet spot). Saturday was the true test - OMG. GF drove car and like's to let the car pull down low in the RPM's, talk about an ear splitting drone from 1500 to 2200 when there is a major pull on the engine... AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Granted it's mountains where she lives, but my lord is it bad. My bigblock vette wasn't this bad, in my younger days I had a tunnel rammed mustang with exhaust kicked out the side that didn't reverberate like this...

AM I just getting old???? I plan on putting Eibachs and AGX's on in the near future, bet my kidneys aren't gonna like me then.

It took a couple months, but my Magnaflow mufflers stopped that. Now I have no drone at all.

I Bought the Complete Magna Flow system for my 97. Have not installed it yet. Gonna replace engine 1st (Blown Heads). when I do I'll give you my opinion of the Complete system. I like how they sound on my 95 GMC.

Update: Drove 70 mile into work from her place, it definately has to be the difference in driving styles. The evil drone was not nearly as noticable (granted I'm not going up mountains) as it was Saturday. I'm likin' it, so at this point I'd have to say I'm gonna keep it... Next on the list is my CV shafts and hubs, oh joy... Thanks guys for the ear..

I was about to say...most anything aftermarket resonator wise can make the drone pronounced...or the lack of a res. Only thing I would say to put in there is a Stock GM Res. or a Glasspack...

i've got some magnaflow knock-offs that sound amazing. I have a 3.5hr drive from home to school, but I never really get annoyed with it on the highway...granted I have Dynamatted the whole car. I highly reccomend the eibachs, i didnt get the KYG AGX due to the price, I went with the best they had at AutoZone which was a Gabriel Ultra. The GMPP handling kit with the eibachs is great. Id reccomend getting the anti-pogo washers from ZZP as well...

I haven't had any experience with these cars and the different types of exhaust, but I have spent my modding carrer with the 3.8 camaros and the only exhaust that i like is the summit turbo mufflers and the muffler straight off of the z28's. personally I see no reason for a loud muffler. if you like to go to the track, put in a cutout. open it up wnen you require no restriction and close it to be civil on the streets.

I guess that I'm insane then cause yes That is what I paid and a new Cat also. No I don't have a lot of money. I looked for a system for over 2 weeks and this was the cheapest that I could find. That was also before I found this website so Sorry if I hurt some ones feelings. It was the best I could do at the Time.
