2005 Grand Prix 3800 Non Supercharged. I am looking for a cold air intake. I know many people reccomend using the box style set up and building one but what about a cold air intake such as this: Air Intake Pontiac Grand Prix GT GTP V6 2004 2005 2006:eBay Motors (item 350217425925 end time Jul-23-09 21:48:31 PDT) do that actually work? Are they worth it? Thanks!

no, ill skip the "make your own" and say this:

the box doesnt really keep the air any cooler than any good PVC or aluminum intake would. just get it close to the fender and call it a day.

What did I say that one day about intake size...something about a choking a fat chick on cholesterol? LOL

The bigger the pipe the better these cars run. 3" is weak. Go 4"

No...you would just have to cut the pipe in half to fit the MAF in there.

how much of a difference is there between the 3" and 4" I really want to do the 4" cause everyone says its better, but I don't want to have to cut stuff up and whatnot.

If you don't want to cut stuff up and want a nice intake check ours out. They are the cheapest most well designed intake out there. We just added the LQ4 models and the 04+ models to the site tonight.

    Welcome To TDC Racing

I've actually looked at that a few times because everyone says it's the best one to buy if you buy one, but I'd rather make my own than spend alot of money on one. Just wondering but what size is your fwi? And I'm still interested in how much of a performance difference there will be b/t 3" and 4". Thanks.

    No problem,

Our FWI is constructed out of 4'' manderal bent tube. And it all depends on where your at in a performance standpoint if your going to need a 4'' over a 3''. I would just go with a 4'' and not worry again about it.
