I have a faint smell of antifreeze in the exhaust and the exhaust sometimes is white (very little), after warmup. This is sounding like a bad head gasket, but the oil and/or antifreeze shows no signs of contamination. Any ideas? or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Well i ran it for a few minutes and i can see a few drips of antifreeze on the tranny just below the length of exhaust tubing running near the throttle body. I just did the LIM gasket and i "Simple Green" cleaned everything after the gasket install, but there is still a spot on the right/rear that i must've missed...gonna clean it up tonight and see if i can see where the leak is. Found this info too:
"If you have the stock, plastic intake and are not thinking of going to a supercharger, then you should definatly get it replaced. The stock intake will fail 95% of the time. There is a coolant passage that runs through the plenum and it contacts an egr tube directly. This causes the plenum to melt and makes your engine suck in coolant. Dorman is the only company that makes a reliable replacement because of the smaller egr tube and reinforced passages. If you plant to keep your GT Naturally Aspired for a while then this is a good upgrade that is money well spent."

If that's your issue, I'd suggest the Dorman.

96-03. Presumably 04-05 L36s don't have the issue anymore due to a reinforced manifold. All I know is that I never had a problem while I had that manifold and I have an 04 model.

Series III 3800s have an aluminum upper manifold so they avoid the issue altogether.

Gonna try the cheaper fix first and do the plenum, the car is running perfectly besides the odor in the exhaust. No misses or rough idle or trouble codes. I guess I should see some antifreeze on top of the intake when i pull the plenum off, if thats the problem? I just recently did the LIM gasket with the newer aluminum gasket, and when i pulled the plenum off the first time, the intake was covered in oil. Thanks for all the help
