I am replacing the Motor in my 1997 Grand Prix GT Coupe. It has 205xxx miles on it, there is a BAD knock, almost a tinny sound, like a piston slapping or something.
I am getting a motor from a Chev Monte Carlo which has 103xxx miles on.
Is there any special tools, or preferred tools that I may need - that I don't have? I hav a ton of STD wrenches, sockets, etc. But I am thinking I will mostly need Metric, I have most everything up to 17 or 18mm, but my Metric selection is much smaller than my STDs.
Also any tricks that will help?
I plan to install new Plugs, Wires, Oil, Anti-Freeze, etc. on the new engine, anything else I should do?
I have not replaced a Front Wheel Drive engine yet, I am looking forward to it.
Thanks in advance for your advise!
