    Hello everyone,
I have a 2001 Pontiac grand prix with 117000 miles, showing a code P0446, which I believe is due to the fuel tank pressure sensor since I already changed the purge canister. My question is, since my car is 20 years old, the fuel tank pressure comes with fuel pump assembly, do you guys think it a good idea to replace the whole thing instead of just the sensor?

If it's working I'd leave it alone. Also check the vacuum lines to the canister as it can cause that code too. Just hang onto the new fuel pump for future use.

When I changed my canister due to the code, I still got the code. I was pissed off.

During my wtf investigation, I discovered charcoal from the canister had made its way up to the purge solenoid.

By taking the time to clean it out (air hose with a blower tip), it shot out enough coal to have a BBQ. Cleared the code it hasn't returned.
