Just picked up my new (to me) 2003 GT the other day and I want to get an intake for it. My mom had an 03 Impala (3.8) with a K&N intake, it worked okay, but I noticed that some water got up to the filter side of the box which I can only assume the filter may have also had some water hit it. Whether it ingested the water or not, I'll never know.

I am looking for an intake that closes the filter off completely from the bottom and engine so minimal heat transfer occurs from the engine and no possibility of water coming in from the bottom of the filter. I have noticed the Thrasher intake does this but relocates the PCM. Does it just raise the PCM on a platform or move it someplace different. Also, I just noticed the Cold Air Inductions CAI for the W-body, any info on that? Thanks for the input guys.

Our Cold Air Induction Kit relocates the PCM (engine computer) and replaces the restrictive factory air intake with a large free-flowing enclosure which hides the PCM from view and allowing the enclosure to act as a display case for the 9" cone while insulating it from power-robbing under hood heat through a clear polycarbonate cover. Our kit comes complete with all components, hardware bag and detailed installation guide.
i have never used this intake but from what is says on their site i believe that the intake box sits on top of the pcm keeping it out of view

I have the K&N kit on my 99 and have not had any issues with it or with water. Another CAI to consider is the wizaired on ZZP's site.

I have the Wizaired and it worked great. The only real complaint is the price. It looks great, sounds great and gets the job done.

Thanks for the responses guys, my only issue with the Wizaired is the bungee cord fasteners that are used to hold the PCM in place and fasten the lid. Do they hold up well or do they need to be replaced with something more robust?

i have the wizard, i think i spent way to much on it. The pcm sits at the bottom of the box inside, thus the pcm doesn't have anywhere to go, the bungee doesn't even have to be there...
