So for a few months Ive been having this issue, my coolant temp gauge will sit at about 170-175 degrees, or about 2 small lines above the 160 mark. normally it would sit around 185 mark, my heat still blows but it is not as hot as it has been in the past. I am wondering if this could maybe be an issue with the coolant temp sensor?

Have you checked your gauge with some form of scan tool? Mine was WAY off when I did the 04+ needles.

Yeah. Definitely check the gauge. Could also be the thermostat is stuck partially open. Pull your radiator cap off on a cold engine start and if coolant moves, your thermostat is stuck open. But my money is on the gauge or the sensor. Just whatever you do, DON'T buy the aftermarket sensors. I've heard of way too many faulty ones.
