So my upper and lower intake gaskets are starting to go and cause a leak. I'm going to do a flush and get rid of dexacool. What's the going rate you guys have paid for getting the gaskets and getting them done? I know best case scenario is to do them myself but I don't have the tools nor the time that's why I'm asking. Anything else I should have them look at while doing this?

Gasket set. This might not be the best price - https://www.amazon.com/Felpro-MS-980...ype=automotive

You want the fel pro gaskets. The steel ones for the lowers are going to be your best bet

rockauto, get the magnum kit, comes with more stuff then any other kit and its only 42 bucks. used em 2 times now, look and work as good as felpro. make sure your getting the metal ones. they do have plastic for sale still.

you need so little tools its silly. a standard cheap ass 30 piece socket set will be more then enough tools. i tell you this cause ive herd of shops wanting 550 and up for a lim job. that comes with fluids gaskets new elbow and labor of course, you can get it done for under a 100 easy in parts and fluids and a few hrs of your time.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

I forget the labor time it calls for but it's going to be around that $500-600 atleast with parts/labor/fluids from a shop. A smaller mom and pop shop might be cheaper but it's hard to say.

The only benefit of a shop doing the work is that if the repair fails, they get to buy you a new motor.

Using metal framed gaskets, get kit that has all gaskets, including valvecovers. Its great time to tune up, change tstat and if you have plastic plenum(3800) replace it , cheap insurance.
If you want a great long life coolant look for Ford spec G05 as its their version of Dex-crud and personally it is better choice.
But regular green antifreeze is fine, just do a drain and fill and tstat every other year or so.
Then no coolant issues. If car is high miles its also good time to swap in metal elbows (3800) and water pump if it looks like its orginal.
    Good luck.
