00 GT, going to be plugging the coolant ports to the TB/porting the crossover and redoing the LIM gaskets this weekend. How long do I need to let the PTFE thread sealer cure on the plugs before I fire it up, and when applying the rtv to the 4 corners of the lower gaskets where it meets the LIM, should I run a bead all the way across it or just do the 4 corners?

no wait time. and just the corners need the dabs. i dab the 4 corners, then install the gaskets then i dab and smear it over the top of the gaskets a bit.

make sure you rtv over the plugs you installed.

Are you putting dabs in the corners before the end gaskets go on, then more on top at the 4 corners? Last time I did this I just set the new end gaskets on the block, hit the 4 corners and away I went.

Good call on rtv the plugs.

i dab it bare metal, then install the gaskets, dab and smear to bridge the gap between the gaskets. leaving enough to ooze out when tq ed down.

i only do this cause its a large gap that needs to be filled in my eyes.

when you take them off they come off as one gasket all glued together. at least mine did two times now.

Alright, thank you. Think I have everything now, after hitting 4 different hardware stores to get the tap and plugs lol... Dang plugs are hard to find. Hopefully the steel ones I got won't be an issue. Couldn't get brass.

rtv the top of the plugs for fun, never know. use thread sealant on the plugs too. you should hog out the side cover H bar when the lim is off too.

Yep, got the ptfe sealer to do the plugs and all the LIM bolts as well. Also picked up some new cutting bits for the dremel so I can hog out the crossover. May do that tonight.

Before I forget, that tube that is part of the UIM gasket, doesn't that get fit into the UIM back near the PCV valve? Old one not here for reference.

Yup. it goes up and in and clips in the UIM

As for putting rtv on top of the plugs.. I never did it. Shouldn't be a need, sealed to pressure by the plug should take care of it.
