Re: Lock pulley top remove 24mm bolt?
Was the repair successful?
I have a 06 that is leaking from the timing cover gasket in the same spot at 135k miles. I don't mean to hijack your thread but I have a few questions before I pull the cover off mine. Can I use an air impact to remove and install the crank pulley bolt, and should I torque it down to spec? My 1/2" torque wrench goes to 250 ft lbs. When reinstalling the cover, I should put a bead of rtv on the pan, and also 2" up the block from the pan, as well as the bottom 2" of the cover side of the gasket, while the rest of the gasket goes on dry?

some of the threaded holes go through the block into the coolant. best to use some thread sealant on all them bolts, the 4 long w/p bolts for sure need this and a few others. or the threads can leak later.
and zap away on the air gun to crank bolt.
