I have heard that this means the engine is in abuse mode, but other members may shed some more light on this.

    MAIN Q'S:
    Can you go over 45?
    how about rpm's?

comparing your problem with my moms.....

my mom drives an Audi A4......her car this past month said reduced engine ower...turned out to be a bad injector.

what kind of scanner are you using? just a cheapy autozone? or are you going to the dealership? the dealership would be able to scan ALL systems..instead of just engine codes.

I take it it hasnt set an SES light.....just reduced power?

It's possible that the accelerator pedal is bad. GTO's are known for this problem with the drive by wire setup, and that's typically the problem as well.

I was just reading about this a couple of weeks ago. The drive by wires have two TPS sensors as a safety feature. These read what the throttle position should be and if both sensors are not reading the same then engine management will limit power and set a warning. Disclaimer - this is what my brain processed from the printed material.

i had my diagnostics at tires plus and somewhere else i cant remember.it drives fine , just less power and the "reduced engin power" reading.i thought it might have been because the guy who put my spark plugs in didnt gap them properly, but the tps sensor answer sounds more likely.i smashed my front end in a freakin blizzard.and its said that ever since i got it back from the body guy(who put the plugs in for me)
