You're going to have to be a bit more specific. Does it happen at certain speeds? Does this "roar" pulsate, or is it consistently monotone? Does the pitch of the roar change with speeds? Does it get worse, better or stay the same around corners, and is there any different when taking a right or left? A roar from up front is USUALLY a wheel hub/bearing, but there are other possibilities depending on your answers to the above questions.

I would bet on it being a well hub/bearing. Jack up the front tires one side at a time, and put your hands on the tire in the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Gently try to move the tire back and forth to see if there is any play in the tire. If you feel significant movement, it's more than likely a wheel hub/bearing.

i finally got a chance to jack it up and found no bearing problems. problem was the black water guards between the wheel well and the engine, it had come loose and was rubbing on the trans axle. thanks for all your help raregmfan
