Well my friend has a 1990 Volvo 740 sedan, he had blown the engine, any way we were thinking about swapping my 3.4 out of my old gp I wrecked and putting it in his Volvo. I had some questions (if this is even possible). First would his tranny in his Volvo work on it? I know that I will need the computer, wiring and all of that. The biggest thing on this is if the trans will work or not? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

Why would it cost alot of money????

Anyway, yes the swap would be quite easy, you could do it with the obd2 or the obd1 ecu, but you would most likely need to swap in a 3800 camaro transmission with it (auto or manual your pick).

It probably wouldnt be "easy" by typical car standards, and impossible if you are deathly afraid of welding things.

Yeah if we were to do it I would use everything off my old grand prix OBDI and everything but the tranny unless we could some how make it work, but I might look for a 3800 Camaro tranny. Its nothing set in stone he just thought it might be fun as did I if we could do it.

Well I found a 97 Camaro tranny from a 3800 for 150, Im not quite shure if it will work with an obdI computer though.
