it was a good deal for what it is. We needed to get out of a large car payment and still have something big enough to haul around my boy and his stuff. i appreciate your honesty Bill. I will get it figured out soon enough and let you guys know. I am hoping it i something easy and cheap.

Lim are worse on the vans because you have to drop the motor out basically. I told dad when his van blows (00 venture) I'm putting a sc 3800 in it.

That seems almost impossible to do. There is barely enough room for the 3400

I know all newer vans like the montana, venture, and the silhouette came with 3.4's only. Stupid gm.

Actually I think they were called dust busters, which was a hoover product?

Anyhow.. look at it this way. Those van dogbones are shorter and would work well if you lowered the GP.

A guy on here swapped in a L67...trans and all...just took the subframe out from his GTP and shoved it up in there.

Mech said the cat was plugged and that is why it is running rough. Had cat changed and still nothing. Will be calling the guy again today.

That sucks to replace parts not needing it.

Well the cat was plugged a little i guess. The van has 207k on it so I imagine it would need replaced. Now they think it might be the muffler?? I think they are chasing now. He said it seemed like the exhaust was plugged?? Wouldn't my SES light come on if this was the case? I imagine the o2 sensor would notice this type of thing, but I am not a mechanic so what do i know.

O2 probably isn't gonna tel you if your exhaust is plugged up but that sounds doubtful

i have no clue on what it is then. I guess I just go along with the chase as long as it doesn't cost a small fortune.

There's no sensor for back pressure in the exhaust system. So yea..tough to say.

Muffler guy said if it is not the cat than it must be something else. I only have 2 more guesses... Either maybe something in the tranny or a large vac leak, but i doubt the vac leak. It goes back into the shop Friday so i will just wait and see.
