I have a 99 gr prix 3100 with a wicked knock, also have a 2000 grand am with a low mile 3400.How compatible are they? I'm thinking if the wiring harness is the same possibly the rest could be.OR what about a complete cradle with transaxle changeover? I have a complete grand am.Any ideas?

I feel like your better off snagging a 3800 and it's harness and PCM and stuff

Well that isn't what he asked.

Whats wrong with keeping the Grand Am? They should be mostly compatible, but you'll need the PCM and probably the wiring harness too. Probably some sensors that are not on both etc.

The grand am got tail ended the other day, back end is all wrecked,I guess I could strip the 3400 down to the block and heads and transfer all the parts, just hoping for an easier way.

I really am not sure if the wiring harnesses are necessary, but the engine and PCM should swap over with minimal hassle.

Its a drop in engine, you just need to use your original motor mounts and injectors. The engine In my 97 monte before I l67 swapped was a 3400 from a 2002 grand am
