03 GP SE with 3100, 118xxx. miles and water pump starts leaking under the pulley, and so the serpentine belt is flinging antifreeze everywhere, is this about the average time for it to give out? thanks.

    Roughly.

To get 100k out of wear-able parts like that is pretty darn good in my mind.

ive owned 2 new from the factory gmc trucks. by 100,000 miles the whole front of the engine was wearing out, new alts, water pumps, idlers, a/c compressors, power steering pumps, clutch fans went bad 3 times, on one truck, so i went with electric fans in the end.

and ive seen other cars start to need parts replaced by 100,000 miles. these parts are all spinning full time, so by 100,000 miles, you'd be worn out as well lol

and thats when most new car warranty's end, so yeah 100,00 sounds about right. coincidence? i think not.....

Water pumps can go at 5000 miles or 500000 miles.. It all depends on how much error was built in and if you got a flawed one.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
