id say make sure you purged all air out the cooling system .... turn on the heater and let it warm up..eventually it should burp itself...if not...you might have blown a head gasket on your hands...

turning the heater on is of no help, coolant flows to the core all the time. the core could be air locked and needs to be flushed. take both hoses off the alt bracket, and then flush with a garden hose.

but that wont cause over heating. chances are you have air still in the engine (you need to bleed it when the engine is warmed up enough to open the t stat.)

you can also take the t stat housing back off and fill the engine from that hole, till its full, then put the t stat back in, make sure its not upside down too.

do not use straight antifreeze either, unless its the 50/50 blend pre mixed.

i use one gallon of full strength coolant, and top off with hose water.

    one of these works

and if you rev the engine when its warmed up if you see bubbles in the rad, cap open of course.

    or do a compression test.

best way to check if you blew a head gasket is for oil to be in your coolant resevoir.

are you sure did you remove the resevoir and pour some out, dont go off eye contact. is it blue smoke? or white smoke? what does the smoke smell like?

next drain some oil, and check for coolant as well.

it is HARDLY impossible my friend that is the one trick to see if you in-deed blew a headgasket, is it POSSIBLE there isnt any oil in there with a blown head gasket yes.

another thing you can do is Remove dipstick and let a drop of fluid fall on hot part of engine - oil will smoke water will "sizzle", if blue smoke is coming out the tail that is a sign that oil is burning.

the only real way oil is getting into coolant is from a blown oil cooler in the radiator. these car dont usually have that option.

coolant in the oil pan can happen. but it would also have to seep in through the pistons, past the rings, and im sure it would of hydro locked long before you found coolant in the oil.

if you see sludge in the over flow, thats dex coolant residue.

That's correct, coolant is water with some antifreeze and some other chemicals but its mostly water, it will steam clean your cylinders and won't make it back to the reservoir. Or it will drain down into the oil pan. Dexcool likes to sludge up and it looks like it could be oil, especially if a different color coolant has been added to top it off.

that looks like its over heating bad in the vid. take the t stat out, and run it again if the same thing is happening, id say the head gaskets are blown for sure.
