I have a leaky fuel injector and had the fuel injectors professionally cleaned and it didn't help so instead of replacing one I'm going to replace all of them (137K miles). can someone give me a brief overview on what's involved. My mechanic skills are pretty good so I'm not totally lost. The car is an 01 GP SE w/ a 3100 engine. All stock. Thanks in advance. I plan on buying some rebuilt ones through Rockauto.

Air filter assy comes off uim and anything else connected to it that will prevent the removal of th uim needs to come offuse a little bit of grease oil or something safe for the orings and that will not damage or contaminate the fuel system. Should take about an hour with hand tools and taking your time. BEFORE PUTTING THE UIM BACK ON TURN THE IGNITION TO RUN POSITION BUT DON'T START IT AND CHECK FOR. LEAKS MAY HAVE TO TURN IT TO RUN A FEW TIMES TO PRIME THE FI RAIL

You can reuse the gasket and no need to disconnect the rail.

We use injectors from Linder Technical Services - Automotive Solutions for Today's Technicians

Years of installing Linder Tech injectors and not a single problem with them. Service and support are awesome too.

i've had it for 9 years now and have had very good luck with it. other than the LIM gasket going out at 100k i haven't had any major problems with it. i've had the usual water leaks ( pass. floorboard and rear spoiler). easy to work on and i can do the brakes on it as well. plus it's long ago paid for.

i got the fuel injectors put in with no problems. i found a set of brand new delphi's on ebay for a $150.00. i also found a couple of vacuum leaks as well and took care of them. i scanned it and the p0171 code is gone after a week of driving. this morning a rusty brake line started leaking so i'm having it towed to the shop for repairs tomorrow. the car runs smooth as silk now so thanks to everyone who helped answer my questions.

You can fix the brake line easily yourself if you want. 2 compression fittings and piece of brake line will have you back on the road.

i think it's leaking at a curve and i don't have a tubing bender so i think i'll have the shop do it. the bracket that holds the fuel and brake lines to the bottom of the car that's located right behind the engine that's where it's leaking. this is a minnesota car originally but i'm living in florida now. son thus some rust. i drove the car up on ramps this morning and that's when the line broke. the body flexed just enogh to break it so it was on the way out anyways. i ramped it up so i could change my fuel filter. i changed my FF a couple of years ago and put some anti-seize on the threads that go in the metal line and what a difference that made. came off easy as pie. thanks for the help.
