2002 GP with 3.1. Tried to recharge, but pressure never went up on gauge. Orifice Tube maybe? Also compressor is clicking when engaged. I have a new kit...Compressor, accumulator, and tube. Think I should just change the whole thing?

sounds like an orifice tube. if the compressor is clicking than it means it's cycling like it's supposed to. when you open an A/C line, it's recommended to replace the accumulator. just remember to add the oil back into the system too

When I say the compressor is clicking, it sounds like if you put a playing card in the spokes of a bike when turned on

Yes a very fast clicking noise, like holding paper in a fan

that's not good, usually means it's about to fail. you said you had it right? you should probably replace that

Well I think this is the culprit. WE replaced the whole thing, compressor, accumulator, and orifice tube. Immediately got pressur back on lowside. Nice cooooooool air. only took us about 4 hours. Not a bad deal. The whole kit was only $289, was quoted $1050 for the job by shop. Didnt look to hard so a friend helped (he knew what he was doing), I assisted hahaha. was kinda nice to save all that cash.
