Hey everyone, i recently acquired a 1990 Grand Prix SE with the 3.1 V6 that i got from my boss which will be helping me fix this up. It has sat for 4 years and has been started periodically throughout those 4 years but now wont start leading me to my questions... First is the fuel pump will not come on i checked the fuses for it (Fuel pump ECM and Relay) and both are good but i found this wire hanging that comes out from the bottom of the Fuel pump ECM/Relay box (see picture below). Is there anyway to test the fuel pump without dropping the gas tank? Now my Second question is when i go underneath and use a screw driver on the starter solenoid it will turn over just fine but when i try to turn it over using the ignition all i hear is the starter clicking... I cleaned the terminal on the starter and obviously the starter is fine so any ideas on what it could be? I will have many more questions but first i need to figure out whether i need to replace the fuel pump or not. Thank you in advance for any input or suggestions. Picture of wire from Fuel pump ECM/Relay:

Battery was just put in and it was reading 12.8 when i tested it so its fine. I also hooked up a 200amp jumper to it to make sure there was nothing wrong with the output and still same results. I did so more searching around today figuring today was alot brighter outside so could see a heck of alot better. I found a section of wires on the drivers side of the engine that was chewed through by the looks of it. Any idea what this wire section is for? I also found a good amount of other wires that were cut but my boss said whoever had it before him put a ridiculous stereo system in it so ill have to check on the others.

Well so far i found out that the purple larger wire is the starter wire hence the reason it will turn over by manually doing it on the starter but not from the ignition. Next objective is finding out whether the fuel pump is bad or ? all i know right now is its not turning on. First pic is where these wires go on the drivers side. Second picture is the wire section that i cut off (2 wires were still not chewed through but have to rewire most of them anyways so whats 2 more?) and will have to somehow rewire it to the section that you can kinda see in the first picture with the wire loom on it. My question is what are these other ones for? Heres the colors and locations of the wires...

    Large Yellow (G)
    Large Purple (E) Starter wire
    Black (B)
    Orange w/ black stripe (A)
    Green (F)
    Green w/ black stripe (C)
Pink or red? w/ black stripe (D)

Well Last night I spliced in the wires in the picture above to the module looking thing in the other picture and boom now my ignition works. I still gotta figure out if the fuel pump is dead or if it's a wire loose or chewed up then I should be in business. There's a million things left I have to do but I don't ever get much time to work on the prix so it will be slow progress over the next month but for now I gotta get it running. I'll be making a new thread on the complete overhaul which will take a couple months atleast but if anybody has any tips on testing the fuel pump or suggestions let me know. Thanks
