Hey guys i have a 03 grand prix with the 3.1 and the headgaskets went out so i was going to get my motor rebuilt but i was told to just swap it out with a 3.5? Has anybody ever did this and will it just cause problems down the road? Thanks!

itll bolt right up to the tranny and such, the wiring shouldnt be too horribly bad. youll have to tune your PCM so it performs at its best.

Ok cool. I was just wondering if my check engine light would come on since the motor is newer and also since.computers are so sensitive now days. Think i should do it or just rebuild my 3.1

Why not a.3.5? Just wondering. And wouldnt it be quite a job to put a 3.8 in it?

i think a 3.8 would be the easiest route and worth the hassel.

it would be a little bit more work to swap a 3.8 in, but a 3500 swap is definitely able.

    MMS 3500 swap
disregard the comments on the '96 model year.
3500 Swap Finally Underway, a few questions

a 3.8 would be more worth it.
