'95 Grand Prix, 3.1L V6, ~315,000 miles ran great until Sunday when it overheated and blew a head gasket. The shop is quoting me at $2,500 to fix. I'll get a second opinion of course, but I'm not sure I'm going to fix it.

I haven't had any major issues since 2007 with this car when I replaced the radiator. The a/c works great, tranny was rebuilt in '03. I dunno what to do, I guess.

Anyone have some advice? Or, who I could unload this to that might want to fix it themselves?

Thanks guys. It's a sad day for me

Why wouldn't you do it yourself?

do i see that right the car has over 300k on it? Umm I wouldnt put more than the cost of gaskets into it and thats if i did it myself. If your even thinking of putting 2k into it 2k down on something else would be a billion times better option

All I know how to do myself is change the oil...

And yes, it has over 300k on it. If the 2nd opinion comes in the same, I will either junk it or see if someone else wants to buy it and fix it themselves.
