there is a half dozen wires(attached to a white connector) coming out of my ignition switch and the red one is losing all the insulation off. The connector is rather black and melted now... for a while now i've had to get the connector in just the right spot to start the car, now the car has been dying even while i'm driving it and i have to throw it into neutral, re-adjust the connector(going into the back of the switch), and start the car again.
the connector and wire get really hot and i've got several nice burns from them. anyways, the red wire is not live unless the ignition is in the ON position, however i can't find a wiring diagram that fits the description.... one diagram says that there's only two wires attached to the switch and that the red one is always live. the other one says there's half a dozen wires attached but the red one is attached to the battery(meaning always live) and it isn't.....
If anyone has an accurate wiring diagram for these things or any idea on what's wrong, i would really appreciate their input.![]()
Sorry for the rant and lack of organization in this thread, i'm really frustrated!
