You can do a direct swap from a 3400 which is a 56mm compared to the 3100's 52mm

Being so close in size do you think the pcm would react to the switch ok?

Milzy Motorsports - American Muscle, Reborn they have mods for the 3100
They say-This 56mm 3400 throttle body will replace your 3100's 52mm unit. Installation is pretty straight forward, but may require transfer of parts from your current throttle body depending on the year and model of your vehicle.

It don't say anything about the PCM having problems so it seems to me that it would work fine to me. Its only 4mm's but it should increase air flow by about 17 percent.

Its for an 03 3.1 GP SE. I found a stock tb for an 02 impala (which has a 3.4 motor) for cheap

Wow good deal. I am not sure about that one. I know that the 3.4 TB off the GP, Carlo, Lummina, Baretta, Regal, Cutlass. Does it like simmular to the 3.1 TB? I have never seen the TB of of that car. Ill find some pics of it and get back with ya.

Installed the new tb, went from a 52mm to a 56mm and yes there is a difference in acceleration but not very much at all. It was worth the $20 I spent on it but I think I am going to find out how much it would cost to get it ported to 60mm. If its more than I would spend at MMS I will buy one from them. I do have a 2003 3.1 motor that has the larger intake manifolds so now my top end is the same as the 3.4 motor. Also I do have a 3" FWI and I noticed at wot it wasnt as throaty but I could hear that it was pulling more air.
