i know i might sound like a jacka** but i need to know if the flexplate is the same thing as the flywheel ? i found out that the center piece where the screws are at broke off from the rest of the flywheel. So today or if not tomorrow were gonna take out the motor ...the reason im asking is because at the local forum they told me zzp is selling a flexplate for 15 dollars which is not bad ....but like ive said before i dont really know anything about mechanics but im steadily getting there....i just need some help on this. Thanks in advance to anybody who can help .......oh and this is exactly how my flywheel sounded right before it broke

In general, it's a flexplate on an auto tranny and a flywheel on a manual.

The names are used interchangeably, meaning they are one in the same.
