The scoop is slightly longer on one of them. It's just to accomodate the size of the gear in the back.
ok will do.
Part 866, it's a reluctor tooth ring

The sungear is oddly not labeled in the diagram. Use the box labeled J and it's between 863 and 664
If you need any other info/trans stuff, likely it's in here.

the black scoop is the longest for the small driven gear of the 2.93 gear sets.
the white/tan is the 3.29 scoop.
i believe the 3.69 chain sets had a pink scoop. which is nearly the same as a tan/white with the tip broken off
so counted the teeth on the sungear and it has 34 teeth! so all i need do is take my 35/35 sprocket and chain from the impala trans and swap into the buick trans and throw the 3:29 diff in! then get retuned
Wait..
The diff and sungear are paired. You should swap both together or never at all. I thought we did the math and came up with wrong drive/driven gearing (although no tech info seems to show this possible in an NA trans that year) and the 3.05 diff?
what i have in the 2011 buick tran is the 3:05 diff AND 3:05 sungear from the old impala trans
what i have on my shelf is the buick diff and sungear, which is 3:29.
i just got done researching many sites, and the 2011 buick with the 3.9l has a 2:93 final drive ratio.

http://www.thecarconnection.com/car-...ncoln_mks_2011
All 4 sites are saying so.
So 3.29 diff on 37/33 gears = 2.93
but i threw in my 3.05 diff on 37/33 gears = 2.72 my current ratio(confirmend by overkill)
ive been confused ever since we did this trans swap lmao, I have learned so much on these transmissions in the last few weeks lols.
so i guess there is a 2:93 trans that went into a n/a car and just my luck i would grab it lol.
thanks for all your help bill. when the all the gears get swapped and tune is done ill update you on success or failure lol.
no, might go to the track just to see the difference 3:29's will make.....maybe.
so really considering buying 3:69 as i got the money in my wallet just sitting there lol.
so i just buy this http://zzperformance.com/3800/transm...rsion-kit.html and get it installed and retuned?
I been reading and some people have issues shift at WOT after... is that a tune issue, or do i need to change out this"reluctor wheel"?
want no hiccups if i go threw with this.
hey Bill(or anyone)do i need any news gaskets when swapping gears?
