I've got a 06 GXP its got almost 53,000 miles.Original Transmission. I'm looking to having a trans service done. I'm not getting it flushed. The shop I go to recommended a fluid exchange, drop and clean the pan and also change the filter. I was just wondering if I am ok to go with the fluid exchange or just have them drain and fill with new fluid? Please let me know.

if the fluid is still red and the trans is not acting up a flush should be ok. add a trans cooler too. the v8 eats trannys.

With those low miles a flush would probably be OK. But you wanna be sure they change the filter as well.

At 53k miles, I'm sure a flush would be just fine.

But now would be a good time to install a Trans-Go shift kit and an External Cooler. The GXP's will eat up the 4T65e Transmission. It's only a matter of time before it starts to fail, so I would install those parts to help prolong its life.
