So my tranny slips and bangs into first at stop lights, only once then its good for a few days, but its been getting worse, and the other day it started hard shifting.... so I have been looking for a new transmission.

I have a guy from oqcgp.com that has a tranny he will sell me for $180, rebuilt and used for 10 000km, its a 02-03 trannny cant remember for sure but it has the upgraded 4th gear shaft/clutch hub/valve body's/solenoids/revised TTC clutch something??(cant remember)/double drive chain/every clutch/bands replaced with 3:29 gears, I dont know what half that stuffs means but I guess its good for the price lol.

My question is will I be able too just change my pcm to recognize the 3:29 gearing since I have 3:05 gearing? anything else need to be done?
    I have a 2005 Impala LS n/a 3800 if that helps.

If it's an 02, you'll need to change the wiring, valve body and channel plate to make it work
If it's an 03, you'll need to change the wiring, valve body and channel plate to make it work

Add programming to both those statements too.

ok....damn.. sounds like a little too much work for me... guess ill keep on the look for a new transmission thanks bill.

Another question for you bill if I may ask, I know the transgo shift kit would bandaid the hard shifting, but im guessing it wont for my slip and bang?

Slip and bang into gear is often the input clutch piston edge wearing. It's on TEP's site as a common issue and well..it sucks.

If you took a look at the 4th gear clutch fix how to.. That shows how to remove the wiring, channel plate and valve body. Pull them from your current trans and put them in the new trans. Poof, done. Costs you a channel plate gasket set. But.. only do this if you know your parts are good.

getting the trans rebuilt before it leaves me stuck on the road

should this fix all my issues? (tranny slips and bangs into first at stop lights, also hard shifts after a good amount of driving)

found a from a 2011 Lucerne with 2.86 gear ratio trans with only 3750 miles on it for $650. gonna throw in my 3:05 gear ratio from my impala or get this.
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/4T65E-34T-DIFFERENTIAL-SET-ASSEMBLY-FINAL-DRIVE-RING-GEAR-SUN-GEAR-TRANSMISSION-/251320212140?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item3a83da1aac&vxp=mtr

and a transgo shift kit, also wondering if i should buy a new pcs from triple edge performance? figuring since the trans has barely any miles it should be fine.

Depends if you want to take the side cover off at all, you can install the 4th gear kit and the boost valve update from the TransGo kit if you do.
