I'm removing my transmission to upgrade the chain and input shaft among other things. The car is an 06 monte carlo SS with 5.3 v8 and Cartuning Turbo kit. The v8 only has one bracket on the backside of the motor to connect to for chain to support it when removing cradle. There is no bracket on the front side. I have an engine support bar, but cannot find a good place to connect a chain to. Anyone removed the transimission on a v8 model? What did you connect a chain to for supporting the engine while the cradle and transmission is out? Haynes manual doesn't provide much info on this for v8 model. Appears v6 models have brackets on front and back for chain, v8 does not. I'm thinking I may have to run a chain around the exhaust manifold on the front side for support, but don't want to break anything.

Any pics of how you used the engine support bar would be appreciated, v6 models too.
