Since a larger chain is expensive, would cryo treating the chain help with that? As well as what other weak parts?

I that's one thing. I was also wondering about the chain and sprockets as I gather they're a weak link and that's why people go larger.

Cryo treating the chain would do nothing. The sprockets don't break or strip generally so that's worthless too. You could Cryo the input shaft but that's pretty worthless too, it would still not be anywhere near as strong as a 4340 or 300m. The only thing I could see benefitting from Cryo or DLC would be the planets or the final drive pieces. I had my diff all apart to send out and I ended up not doing it, going on 3 years and 3 sets of tires and it hasn't blown up yet.

So there's nothing wrong with the chain or there's nothing that can be done with the chain other than going bigger?

Oh there's plenty wrong with the stock chain. It's a piece of ****. There's just nothing you can do to make them stronger other than tossing them in the trash can and converting to a single wide chain to start with. It's not that pricey of an upgrade really, if you can't afford to go to a single chain then you can't afford to make enough power to need one. If your making big power you have to start looking for the big boy GMR drive chain parts but there are only few that make it that far.

the standard upgrade "7/8ths" 4t60 single chain suits most of us well enough
