As the title says, what are all the main clues that point to a failing 4th gear? Trying to narrow down an issue.

no fourth gear feels like no 4 th gear lol

get on the highway, get up to 60 mph, then drop the shiftier into 3 rd gear, do the rpm's go up? if not you no longer have 4 th gear.

as they go bad and wear out that is, they will catch 4 th and let it go off and on sometimes, till they no longer catch.

Hm yeah it seems kinda like my issue. I havent done the 3rd gear drop down yet,but i when im cruising on the road once i hit 45mph which is right where 4th gear takes over my cars rpms at times keep going as im going faster so basically staying.in 3rd. I also have this annoying stutter around low rpms going thru gears 3 and 4,feels like a misfire but its not. I have codes for front o2 sensor, rear o2 and tstat.

IIRC its the gear shaft not the gear itself that would wear out. 3k+ rpms at 60+ mph = no 4th gear.
The annoying stutter isn't caused by the trans, its because you need new 02 sensors. Fix those asap or you will be needing a new engine.
