Hard shifting is triggered from slow shifts. Shift kits prevent slow shifts therefore preventing the triggered hard shifts.

I've had the TransGo shift kit in my ride for just over 3 years now; all good. The shift kit is a band-aid, but a damn good one.

I do want to get a cooler installed, as I hit 208*-210* regularly in the summer months. In the mean time, I'll keep doing frequent fluid changes.

Yea, after reading the DIY on the shift kit here on the forum, it's definitely the way I'm going to go. Way easier (and cheaper) than doing the solenoid. I'm going to do the shift kit first and see if that takes care of the problem. If not, then I'll add the cooler.

Sounds like a good plan, that's the order I did it.
