So I posted before about my car jerking while at higher rpm's. This resolved itself when I changed my MAF and cleaned my TB.

I noticed some slippage when regular driving, so I saw lucas trans fix was mentioned earlier, I was looking at the stuff and it just looked to be a thicker oil (Probably more to it, but my logic stands).

So, hop on down to Canadian Tire, go to the transmission oil section and see some vegetable based tractor oil, roughly the consistency of warm honey. Dumped 3/4 of the bottle in my trans and now it's smoother than it has ever been (got the car at 256km)

    Did this at about 296,000km

just turned over 301,000 and still working great.

Anybody have any concerns for using this type of oil, what do you think caused it to start acting normally again?

    Thanks,
    Donny

no clue what you used. so who knows?

lucas is more then thicker fluid, it refreshes seals and stuff.

Quick question Scotty. Got a friend has a 08 GP 5.3. Put it in gear nothing but a whining noise. Pull the battery fuse for a minute and it goes in gear for awhile then its like its in neutral. Pull the fuse again and it goes in gear. Any ideas?

im no tranny expert but im sure its got a stored code. sounds like if hes lucky its a bad solenoid. see if it moves when in 1 st gear. if it drives its the forward band that broke. most of the time.

get it scanned. the code will tell more. seems like a solenoid. theres 3 of them in the side cover that can go bad.
