I would use lubegard before lucas anyday. I have no experience with Lucas products but anything that claims they "stop leaks" or "conditions seals to prevent leaks" is bad. They may work temporary but a year down the road all your seals have swollen and you have 5 different leaks. You could have one of many problems causing the slipping, id say first step is get it scanned with a trans-capable scanner.

Also, do realize, that these pour in fluids are not going to cure your problems. Only help to keep them from showing up for a little bit.

If your transmission is slipping, you most likely have an issue that will require a rebuild. The damage is already done. Putting this additive in will only cover up the problem. It won't take the place of a rebuild. It is not a miracle fluid.

Your best bet, rather than waste money on iffy additives, is to go to a transmission shop with a good reputation and have them drive the car and give a diagnosis. If possible have two or three places look at it. They know better what is going on inside your transmission. And most of the time when something like this occurs, a full rebuild is needed.

Zef has accomplished something GM never intended. Auto makers see the transmission somewhat as a wear item. Eventually it will need to be replaced (like rotors or pads) due to wearing of frictions. Though, not nearly as often as said brake parts. They never had any intention for it to run 200k+ miles.

Ive got a 98 olds intrigue my dad bought used in 99 with just over 10,000 km on it, now its got 304,000k on the original transmission (180k miles). Still shifts fairly well but I take it easy. This car has the 3800 and the 4t65e. I guess judging by most peoples luck that i am just lucky to get over 300k
