How much fluid did you lose when you pulled the axles? Did you check your tranny fluid after?

Like I said she drove it called me said it ran like new, stopped at a friends house backed out, went a few more miled a clunk is what she heard and then nothing

Fluid should come out when the CV is removed. I drained a gallon my trans fluid before removing my CV, and fluid still came out. And it was jacked up only on the side that I was working on. Check the level and color first, and see if it moves in any gear selection. (P, R, D, 3, 2, 1) If still nothing, inspect the axles to make sure you didn't get a defective one or something. If one snaps you will get 0 movement on both tires.

You just push them in until it locks into place. If no fluid came out you where probably low to began with. Have you ever check the trans fluid?

When you push it in, you will know it's in because it won't pull back out by hand. The little clip seats. I doubt anything like that caused these issues.

Grasp the inner CV push firmly while rotation slightly till I locks pull on it, the inner CV should not come back out. I usually push that ****er 3-4 times till I know it good.

I really don't think it could come out enough to affect it like that once it's all put back together.

There are a few issues that can cause no movement. Such as a scored or damaged seal on the input clutch piston(putting it in 1 and giving it gas usually makes it go), and no movement in Drive or 3, (broken forward apply band). This is why I asked you to try different gear selections, but you never responded to that.

That's all he knows apparently. The axle really cant come out once the ball joint is back on. I'm thinking it's an issue unrelated to an error in the CV axle placement, but we'll see when the shop decides they want to look at it.

they can pop out with the ball joint on. It's harder for it to do it but when i swap axles i don't even pop the ball joint just yank it out.

^^ lessons learned the hardway i did it too before, luckily i saw a dark line on the pavement in my rear view coming out the driveway....it was nothing but trans fluid coming out, which is why now i always give the tug test to make sure i got the axle seated properly

Well the verdit is in; The mechanic took the axle out and it was broke, probably got into a bind some how, the inside of the tranny were is goes in I was told was kind of tore up. "We had to seat it with a sledge hammer" Daughter took part back to parts store they gave her anouther free, and the mechanic charged me 100.00 to take out the broken one, and install the new.

Did he tell you where it broke? and why he thinks it did? We did have a guy on the forums that had one snap right at the spot before the splines that go to the output shaft on the trans. He put it in drive while on the rev limiter though...
