On my DD 99 GT it has 148K on it and the trans is starting to take a long time to shift at part throttle on all the shifts. At WOT it will shudder while shifting, any ideas, or new tranny time. So, Trannyman what do you think is up with this, I dunno if i should chance a used trans or take it to you. I do not need anything special, it just needs to be reliable.

Sounds like a pan drop and shift kit to me. It will freshen up pthe fluid obvously and the
shift kit will take less of a toll on the clutches.

With that many miles on your trans it is definately getting tired. The clutches have likely been burnt for a while and are well glazed over which is giving you the long shift times and sloppy WOT shifts. Also when the clutches were excessively over time this also causes even more clutch clearnance which is very loose to start with on these transmissions. If your pressure control solenoid has never been changed is probably isnt doing its job 100% anymore either. A shift kit that is available to install in the bottom accumulator is only a bandaid fix to me, I dont care for them and will probably never use one. I do use Transgo kits as part of a rebuild but I also do internal work in conjuntion with the kit which greatly quickens up the shifts. Also your 4th clutch shaft has to be on its last leg, I am suprised you still have 4th gear with that many miles! I have a few GT cores here if you are considering me to build one for you, just let me know and I will do all I can to help you out whether you need assistance with yours or want a rebuilt one.

Engine mounts, says my 183K mile tranny. The symptoms are similarly baffling. I'd check those first before you go any further with disturbing your transmission. (Mine in particular does not like to be disturbed.)

I could list my mods, but Sideways has an ungodly list. I dare not try to compete.
