just came back from the trans shop and they said i dont have limited slip.. i always thought that the gtp's came with a HD trans with limited slip.. can someone please clear this up for me? thanks

and is it worth it to go to a single chain setup at this time?

They have a larger differential, but NO 4T65Es, HD or otherwise, came with limited slip.

How would we know if it would be worth it to go with a single chain with no information about your car?

well my car is a 97 gtp, i just picked it up and plan on modifying it to a decently fast street car (high 12's-mid 13's). so far it has a thrasher intake, slp exhaust, cat eliminator, lowered, 3.4 pulley. there might be more done to the car, but i havent looked into it much so far. the trans was blown when i got it and im upgrading it as we speak with Intense racing parts.

You're running a 3.4 with only an intake, catback, and no cat? Not good, my friend.

As for the chain, you're far from even being able to think about breaking your stock chains. You might be about to break other things with that 3.4...

There is nothing wrong with that. yes can add a 180° stat.

Remember these cars were first modded people just started with intake and pulley.

Doesn't mean it was right. Sure he's making more boost, but the added KR is leaving him at his original level if not slower.

Seems perfectly fine to me. The Grand Prix community needs to stand back and realize how paranoid they are about 3.4 pulleys.

Yes, all GTP's come with the 4t65e-HD.

    ...and it's PCM, not ECM.

Our diffs are too small to build a reliable limited slip. Probably why GM never did it themselves.

Scratch that, I think they have done it either on a concept or race only car. Just too expensive to do on commercial models.

Torsen and Quaife both make/made reliable LSDs for our cars, but they were >$1500.
