Anybody done this. Just installed a 2000 transmission in my 97 GTP along with a billet flex plate and 2500 tc. When it starts its makes a really loud squeak and the two people that have helped me has said put a shim on there to get rid of the squeak. Opinions please

Clearance can be off. I've only installed one starter on a 3800 that needed to be shimmed. It required something like 3 shims. Google shimming and if the description fits the sound you are getting.. shim it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

the billet flexplate has a more squared off tooth profile vs the oem flexplate so it makes the zing sound

make sure the flexplate counterweights dont hit the starter nose housing earlier starters tend to hit vs the later 05ish+ "mini's"

i used a .020 shim from the auto parts help section....uses the same starter bolt pattern as the inline small block chevy
