    When the vehicle starts there is a loud grinding whine that is coming from the tranny. As I shift through the gears it quiets down and gets louder . there is no gear or position that is consistantly the same noise level.

    yes. I should add that I have very good understanding of auto mechanics. so all the common sense things have been checked...lol...hows it going in Rogers?

    Well Dog... if you hae a good understanding of mechanics and the sound is heard in park, starting ..and all gears. That sounds pretty bad to me. It would lead me to think pump, pump shaft, or converter are having issues. None of those are fun fixes.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
