Hey, I am wanting to know if there is anything wrong with my wife's car. The car has 90000 miles, car is stock, not abused at all. Every time the car shifts into 3rd gear, the transmission kicks into the gear, there is no shuddering, no stalling. I have searched, and searched for the same problem, didn't find it. Every other gear it shifts very smooth, help? I saw the thread about the shift kit.

I know how to check fluids thank you, I'm 28. I started the car when it was fully warmed up and idling then took out the red dipstick, put it back in, and then looked at the level. The fluid is where it should be, it is full and red.

No by wiping it on a white towel you can see if there are any contaminants in it.

What did age have to do Wit anything?

Anywho, the white towel trick shows the containments in the fluid. Have you done that?

I just used a white paper towel, I will use a towel when I check it next time. What will the contaminants look like?

When was the last time it was serviced? Containments meaning specks of dirt In the napkin. When you wipe the dipstick is the fluid nice and clear on the napkin?

I would have to check the bills as we just bought the car one month ago. The fluid looks clear to me. I will recheck with a towel this time.
