Depends in your application. Race car.... sure. Otherwise just get the Dorman stock replacement pan with a drain plug. You can find them for under $40 shipped.

the question is for an item used to cool down tranny temps....I'd prefer it over a regular tranny cooler....

It does seem like it will function well as a fluid cooler - lots more area compared to the steel pan - and the fins hang down in the breeze under the speeding car.

I'll keep you updated about trans temps when I finally drop in my new trans. I bought it to counter the extra heat I expect to make with my TCI torque converter.

Installed my Dorman pan today at work with no issues. New filter and gasket as well. The pan doesn't come with a drain plug gasket and doesn't seem to need one, but I just threw one in for the hell of it. Free shop supplies haha. Dex VI in abundance as well so I can drain and fill as much as I want!

the plug on the pan is a + ....but last year I saw some pretty hot tranny temps, and wanted to know if anyone else has had success with the Aluminum pan....
