So long story short I think I may have bought the wrong transmission for my comp, just ran a dtc check and came back with a incorrect gear ratio code along with a tcc code I had prior to the new tranny and new tq converter installed.

Solution is it possible to write a different bin to the pcm if it is incorrect? Could the tcc solenoid code be the culprit of the tranny issues. Also the tranny will not shift with steering still shifters... Thanks in advance.

Hey, nice to see you over here on this site...I'm Quick99GTP over on the other site. I'm not sure on the CompG tap shift stuff but I'd send Dave Norris at Triple Edge Performance an email with your question.

So I take it that you haven't be able to further diagnose the TCC Solenoid code?

I'm thinking it's something related to the harness or just being the wrong tranny.

I don't agree....those codes are not related. There are a few posts out there that I've come across about the ideas about how you can tune the pcm for the 2.93 ratio. Suggestions have been to try and change the Drive Sprocket Ratio from 1.00 to 1.120....and the other one is to try simply changing the gear ratio from 3.29 to 2.93 and clicking commit to the changes. Not sure if anyone has officially done it but both are worth a try. You may be able to at least see if the gear ratio will be corrected.

Also if you have put in a non CompG transmission there is no amount of tuning that you'll be able to do to get the "Tap Shift" function back. The valve body and channel plate are unique to the CompG transmissions.

If you have a tuner I'd suggest changing the trans tables to the GTP table with the 2.93 gear ratio.

Do you still have your stock comp G trans? Could just swap the gears over and not tune it...or I believe you can input 2.93 into calculated gear since stock our comp g says 3.29...most guys I believe when they go to 3.29's change the calculated gear and let it auto scale the tables

If you try to program the trans gears that way, likely you'll have more issues.

Crawl under and get a picture of the tag by the differential. Or get the numbers. then let's decode it and stop guessing. We will know for sure. On the programming, yes it's possible. Have to do it the right way though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
