My 2006 GP GXP makes a unique noise in 3rd and 4th gear, but if I shift to 2nd the sound goes away. I have taken it to a mechanic, but he couldn't hear anything. I blame it on there wasn't any solid structure for the sound to bounce off of. but this sound makes me worry enough to keep it in second gear when going through town. Usually isn't a problem since the speed limit is 20-25 mph, but I still get low mpg, so its an issue all around. The sound is a mix between squeaking and clanking. Like I said it only makes that sound in 3rd and 4th gears going lower speeds (higher speeds=higher RPMs= no sound). If anyone has any insight or similar problem let me know please. If it isnt an issue with my transmission I apologize for posting in the wrong area.
