Basically you have to pull the motor or trans to get at it.
So shop is going to charge alot, labor rates vary alot, but figure 100 an hour is a starting point.
contact billboost he probably has a good flex he'd let go real cheap.
i paid a guy $400 to do mine but he done some other stuff with it.
I do have a couple around.
Like mentioned. The flex is between engine and motor. One has to move quite a bit to get to it.
okay so I took my car for inspection today and failed a bunch of stuff for safety driving it back home I heard a loud bang and it wouldn't drive the motor would just rev up and when I shut it off it wouldn't start again is that the flexplate making it do that or did I blow my transmission to
Its possible the flex plate broke and now you cant move anywhere, its also possible that something else broke.
Either way you still have to remove the engine or transmission to figure this out, it would have been a better idea to not drive the car with a broken plate.
why were you driving it if your flex plate is cracked. Flex plate and torque converter connect together transferring the power the engine has created. It doesn't take long to make the car non drivable if either one of those is bad.
because the place where I live was going to have it towed unless I got it legal again and didn't have anywhere to keep it so I just had to have a friend give me some old place it is that we're still good because they just check the sticker and not which vehicle it goes to
