I have two GTPs right now and they are both 2000's, and both are making the exact same grinding type sound coming from the transmission. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

We could probably guess if you'd be willing to give us some more information.
Only thing I can gather from grinding transmission noise is.. something is broken. That's clearly not a good answer and gives you nothing to work with for a fix.
I am not sure how to describe the noise really, it has not effected with of the transmissions performance or shifting, there is also no slipping at all. The noise changes with speed, the faster you go the fast the noise grinds, when i turn to the right the noise changes slightly. Also when you put the car in neutral there is no difference at all. It is like a grinding kind of thumping sound the has something to do with something spinning, the faster you go the faster it gets. I am not sure what other information you need. Please let me know.
Both wheel bearings have been replaces as well as cv shafts. We have put it on the lift and have put it in gear and the noise is coming from the transmission on both cars. We are very confused as to what it would be. The tires are brand new balanced and aligned and everything too. If anyone knows of what it could be in the transmission please let me know.
sounds like you may have a worn flex plate..i would take it to a tranny shop asap because i waited on mine and the tranny completely blew out..
sam
The noise is coming more from the passenger side of the car. Would a rebuilt kit for the transmission fix this problem? My dad would b able to rebuilt it we just don't know what would fix the problem...... Thanks for any responses
