Last fall I had both axles go bad with in a week so I had both replaced, then the passanger one tore the boot off and from the looks I think it twisted the inner bearing/universal (whatever the thing is called) and the driver side started shaking again. So I replaced them both and they worked fine until tonight I noticed the passanger boot ripped off again (on the inner side) so I checked and nothing is catching it to tear it. The axle doesn't shake or make noise so I didn't notice until I had a flashlight looking at random stuff and noticed it, and that its completely dry, well theres grease everywhere but my axle LOL. Any input on what could cause this and what a good replacement axle is. also if it matters last fall during the time my axles kept going out I went through both front wheel hubs twice and a third time on the passanger side.

I would check your motor mounts and make sure the motor isnt moving around and causing the axle to rub on something while going over bumps etc etc.

Are they the inner or outer boots that tear? Or is it just random?

Reason I say is your alignment could be jacked to no end. But that should be noticeable to most.

inner, only the passenger side tore, the driver just went bad twice (probably from my driving) but under more investigating today Im going to go with mounts. I noticed the motor does sit towards the rear slightly causing my down pipe clamp to hit a brake line which it never did before, and from looking at the tore boot some more I can tell it must have been hitting the subframe/control arm being the metal is shiny. so new mounts for now I guess, and I checked the axle seems perfect so I might just pack in some grease and throw on a new boot and hope for the best. how big of a job is replacing the engine mount and tranny mount?
