i have a 2001 3.1 auto w/175k and i got the code to replace the tcc solenoid, but in order to replace i have to take off the trani cap/plate which consists of taking apart part of the steering componets and part of the frame. since i have to do this i was going to replace the torque converter clutch as well....BUT when i start my prix and shift it into drive, it doesnt want to shift or catch. i have even tried shifting into reverse, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. can the torque converter clutch (solenoid) be "stuck" which is resulting in not letting the trani shift? or could it be my trani that isnt operating correctly? please help me! im desperate!

What was the exact code that came up? Sounds like you have more problems than the tcc solenoid.

Based on your first post, you really don't seem to understand a TCC clutch or the operation. Would that be correct?

To replace the soleniod, follow my how to on replacing the 4th clutch hub. But don't remove the channel plate or VB as the solenoid is right there once the cover is off. No need to remove steering etc.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
