Anyone using a torque converter from PATC? They are based in Louisiana, used to sell the blue plate clutch kits for our trans. Among other things. Just curious if anyone has had any experience with them quality etc wise.

Never heard of them.
Just looked over their web site, looks promising, best way to find answers is to call them. If I wanted a built trans though I would go TEP though cause there is tons of info in the forum.
Yeah, I have all the parts from Dave at TEP to build mine (I am a GM dealer trans master tech) but I can't stomach the 900 for a converter from Precision through TEP so I was looking elsewhere for a converter. I have done business with PATC for 6speed truck transmissions but not for our trans. I have talked to them a couple times about building me a converter I just was hoping someone else had gotten one to find out other opinions on if they are any good or just some hacks building converters as a side job etc. I have heard some horror stories from some ppl regarding converters from smaller outfits.
The thing that sucks about buying cheap converters is that if the converter fails then the entire transmission will fail....its something you might not want to chance. I have a Circle D 4000 in my camaro, and before that I had a Yank 3600 they both locked up great and handled the nitrous fine.
Also do they have prictures of the particular converter your interested in, ones that have an adapter ring welded on are going to be bad news, weaker
Machined face ones are stronger
How much power are you going to be making?
Turbo, Ballpark 400whp is my goal. Street driven mostly. occasional track time. Actually have a line on a gently used ATI so I might go that route. PPl seem to have had good luck with those.
If that is the case I really would not cheap out and go for a good-high quality converter, because your going to want it to hold up at the track while still being street-able (you can feel the difference between a quality lock up on a converter to a sloppy one)
Id call around and do some research at a few places before you pull a trigger
