So my 4th gear is gone (has been for some time) and the trans is starting to slip so i figured it time for a new one. I found an 03 GT in the junkyard thought maybe that would be a good tranny to rebuild since it already has a hardened 4th clutch hub. I remeber someone I think it was FFDP saying that the 03 trans are slightly differnt but what is different besides the 4th clutch hub? And can i still swap it into an 01 GT and just bolt it in and then plug and play? I don't want to have to splice any wires or modify anything.

Also if anybody knows a good place to get a cheap rebuild kit (its just a DD) that would be great too
    Thanks

You have to change the valve body IIRC. Gearing should be the same though.

To use an 03+ 4T65E trans in an 02 and earlier car you have to use a 2003 pcm. All 2003+ 4T65E transmissions are electrically different and are not plug and play so you must use a correct matching pcm and 2003 was the only year of the old body style. It is best to use the correct year so you dont have the headache of swapping this especially if you dont have the ability to reprogram the pcm.
