How does the car react when you floor it from 2nd to make it go into 1st, stupidly aggressive downshift that takes you nowhere?
Similar problem -harsh down-shift to first from a "slow-roll" after car is driven 30 - 40 miles and then in heavy traffic only at traffic lights etc. No codes ! Does NOT do this when cold or in highway traffic 60MPH plus, only after a drive and then in heavy traffic. I haven't and can't check in the next few days a "heavy foot" 2nd to 1st down-shift but I was inclined to think trans PCS and you seem to feel most likely NOT? I wouldn't say there's a "loss of power" with mine though.

Comments? The car is an '03 L67 SSEi 95K miles and serviced regularly.

I do have an L67 '02 GTP also.

I honestly think it's the trans but I'm not too concerned right now cuz I'm saving up for another car anyways so when I get that I'll be rebuilding my transmission myself

That's a totally different issue. With my issue, I had a clogged cat where the higher the RPM that I would rev to, the less my car would move because it couldn't exhaust that well. I had a huge loss of power with a clogged cat and for me, that was my first heads up that it was going bad.

yeah that's never happened to me. I've had some bogging, but it doesn't restrict power all the time if it was the cat I would always have a loss of power

    Downshifting into 1st?
Why not just come to a complete stop?
You should never be downshifting into 1st unless it's from a dead stop.
Otherwise, it is a recipe for disaster.
    Ask me how I know?
1st gear paddle downshift @ 30mph into WOT w/ 13 psi blowing the tires off.
Stock 80k trans started slipping a week later.

rolling stop signs shouldn't have crappy shifts. if this is wut normally happens everyone's car would do it and have transmission problems

no like I'm trying to say if that were the case then every car on earth would do the same thing lol. I kno there's something wrong with my trans especially since it's shifting late. I want to meet up bill but I'm very short on time. I'm saving up for another car so maybe when I get that next summer I'll have more time just to dedicate to fixing the Prix and I'll swing by. it's tough to really try to do anything to it since I work a lot and I'm in school
